In the light of the Qur'aan and Ahadeeth

Madrasah in Just 5 Minutes

In the light of the Qur'aan and Ahadeeth

(1) Islaamic History
Hadhrat Hudhayfah (RA) was a famous Sahabi who is known as the confidante of Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  because Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  disclosed certain secrets only to him. Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  informed him of whom the Munaafiqeen were and also told him about the times of strife and corruption that were to come. Hadhrat Hudhayfah (RA) himself says, “While others asked Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  about the good, I always asked about the bad so that I could stay away from these.” Because Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  disclosed the names of the Munaafiqeen to Hadhrat Hudhayfah (RA), Hadhrat Umar (RA) always enquired whether he attended the funeral of a person. If he was present, then Hadhrat Umar (RA) also attended and if Hadhrat Hudhayfah (RA) did not attend, Hadhrat Umar (RA) absented himself as well. Hadhrat Hudhayfah (RA) was extremely particular about following the Sunnah of Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  and on one occasion when a morsel of food fell from his hand as he dined with Persian royalty, he bent down to pick it up and eat it. Someone sitting beside him advised him against this because it would be looked down upon by the Persians. However, Hadhrat Hudhayfah (RA) paid no heed and replied, “Should I forsake the Sunnah of my beloved Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  for the sake of these fools?”
(2) Allaah’s Power

One of the wonders in the manner in which Allaah has created man is that the body forms in a place where there is neither air nor light. In this threefold darkness, the eyes are created, the ears are created, the hands with their fingers and even their nails and individual prints are created. All of this together with the unique appearance of every person is created within this dark place. Allaah says, “He is the One who fashions (creates and shapes) you in the wombs as He pleases. (It stands to reason that something that is created cannot be worshipped.) There is no Ilaah besides Him, The Mighty, The Wise”.

[Surah Aal Imraan, verse 6]

(3) A Fardh

Allaah says in the Qur'aan, “(The evil-doers are) Those who break the promise (pact) they made to Allaah after agreeing to it, who cut off those things that Allaah has ordered that they join (such as family ties), and who spread corruption (mischief) on earth. These are certainly the losers (because they are headed for Jahannam)”.

[Surah Baqara, verse 27]

It is imperative that Muslims join ties with their families and ensure that these ties are never severed.

(4) A Sunnah

Hadhrat Ka’b bin Maalik (RA) reports that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  preferred to embark on  journey on Thursdays.

[Bukhaari 2950]

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue

Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  stated that when a person remains seated after completing the Fardh of the Fajr salaah and, without speaking anything but good, he then performs two Rakaahs (Ishraaq) salaah, all his sins will be forgiven even though they may be as much as the foam in the oceans.

[Abu Dawood 1287, from Hadhrat Mu'aadh bin Anas (RA)]

(6) A Sin

Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  mentioned that amongst the three people who will not enter Jannah will be the one who disobeys his parents, the drunkard and the one who reminds people of his favours to them.

[Nasa'ee 2563, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar (RA)]

(7) This World

When someone belched in the presence of Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) , he remarked, “Do not belch in our presence because the hungriest person on the Day of Qiyaamah will be the one who overate in this world.”

[Tirmidhi 2478, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Umar (RA)]

(8) The Aakhirah

They will be (enjoying themselves) in Jannaat of bliss. (Making up this group of the forerunners, there shall be) A large group from among the earlier ones (the people before Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ) and a few from among the later ones (the people after Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) ). They will be (reclining) on woven thrones (thrones woven with thread of pure gold). Reclining on these facing each other (so that they can easily converse with each other). Youngsters of eternal youth shall wait on them (serve them) with goblets and jugs and glasses filled with flowing wine. Neither will they have headaches with it (with this wine), nor will they be intoxicated (because it will be unlike the impure wine of this world).

[Surah Waaqi’ah, verses 12-19]

(9) Cures from the Qur'aan and Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)

When Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  once prohibited a person from wine, he added that they used it as a medicine. Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  remarked, “It is no medicine but a disease.”

[Muslim 5141, from Hadhrat Waa’il bin Hadrami (RA)]

(10) Qur'aanic Advice

Allaah says in the Qur'aan, “O you who have Imaan, take care of your own selves (guard your Imaan as well while advising others). He who has strayed (from the truth) cannot harm you when (as long as) you are rightly guided (obeying Allaah’s commands). To Allaah shall you all return, when He will inform you of what you used to do (and reward or punish you)”.

[Surah Maa’idah, verse 105]
