Madrasah in Just 5 Minutes

In the light of the Qur'aan and Ahadeeth

(1) Islaamic History
Hadhrat Haleema Sa’diyyah رضي الله عنهما was the daughter of Abdullaah bin Haarith and the wife of Haarith bin Abdul Uzza. She was a trustworthy woman of excellent character and belonged to the Banu Sa’d tribe, who were renowned throughout Arabia for their eloquence. According to the Arab custom, this fortunate woman took Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  home as a baby to suckle him and to rear him. She loved him dearly and daily saw manifestations of his blessings around her, which caused her love for him to grow even more. She cared for him for approximately 4 years before returning him to his mother. When she heard that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  had announced his Risalaat (Prophethood), she accepted Islaam together with her husband Haarith and son Shayma. Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) revered her greatly, spread his shawl out for her to sit on and addressed her as his mother. He served her and tended to her needs. She migrated to Madinah and passed away there. She is buried in Jannatul Baqee.
(2) Allaah’s Power
Allaah has created various types of herbs, which people use for various purposes. Each of them have different characteristics and are used to treat various illnesses. While some are effective in treating fever, others are used to treat coughs, colds and many other ailments. Who has placed these medicinal properties in these herbs? It is only the One Allaah.
(3) A Fardh

Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  said that there is no place in Islaam for the person who does not perform his salaah and that there can be no salaah without wudhu.

[Targheeb wat Tarheeb 771, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(4) A Sunnah

Hadhrat Rabee’ah bin Aktham (RA) reports that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  used the Miswaak across the width of the mouth (from right to left and left to right).

[Sunan Kubra (Vol.1 Pg.40)]

(5) An Important Act and its Virtue

Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  said, “Those who walk to the Masjid in the darkness will have perfect light on the Day of Qiyaamah.”

[Abu Dawood 561, from Hadhrat Buraydah (RA)]

(6) A Sin

Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  said, “When a person (intentionally) breaks a fast of Ramadhaan without a valid excuse, he will not be able to compensate for it even though he fasts all his life.”

[Abu Dawood 2396, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(7) This World

Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  said, “Allaah grants this world when a person intends the Aakhirah, but refuses to grant the Aakhirah when a person intends this world.”

[Kanzul Ummaal 7237, from Hadhrat Anas (RA)]

(8) The Aakhirah

Allaah says in the Qur'aan, “(Addressing the angels of punishment, Allaah will say,) “Grab him (the one bound for Jahannam) and place a yoke around his neck!” Then enter him into the Blaze! Then fasten him in a chain seventy cubits in length.” (A cubit of the Aakhirah is immensely longer than a cubit of this world.)”.

[Surah Haaqa, verses 30-32]

(9) Cures from the Qur'aan and Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)

Rasulullaah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam)  said, “The stomach is the pond of the body and all the blood vessels are fuelled by the stomach. Therefore, when the stomach is healthy, the blood vessels transport this good health throughout the body and when the stomach is unhealthy, the blood vessels transport this ill health throughout the body.”

[Tabraani in his Awsat 4494, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]

(10) Qur'aanic Advice

Allaah says in the Qur'aan, “Beware of a trial (punishment) that will affect not only the oppressive (wrongdoing) ones from you (but will affect the righteous as well because they did not make an effort to stop the others from sin despite having the ability to do so) ! Know that surely Allaah is severe in punishment”.

[Surah Anfaal, verse 25]
